Abstract
Trichodesma zeylanicum (Burm. f.) R. Br. was first published as Borago zeylanica Burm. f. by Burman (1768) from Australia, then transferred into genus Trichodesma to became Trichodesma zeylanicum (Burm. f.) R. Br. by Brown (1810). The purpose of this study was to assess the current state of research on the valuable medicinal plant Trichodesma Zeylanicum and to update existing knowledge. Trichodesma Zeylanicum, often known as Adhapushpi, is a member of the Boraginaceae family. It was traditionally used to treat a variety of diseases, including arthritis, fever, skin disease, arthralgia, and dysentery.
