Abstract
Ecoinformatics is a growing bioinformatics field dealing with information of the organisms and its interactions with the environment. Ecoinformatics rely on 3 major steps involved namely data acquisition, Data storage and validation, Processing and visualization. The vast amount of data being generated by the ecological members are recorded by the suitable sensors installed online or offline. These data are maintained in different data base based on its nature, validated and processed using suitable tools and made available for further analysis and studies in the required format. We believe ecoinformatics can be a valuable tool for further investigations with respect to variables that impact the ecology. We have discussed about the role of ecoinformatics in ecology, meteorology, agriculture, and metallurgy in near future. The basic data generated in these areas can be used for the analysis and prediction of future situations.
