Abstract
30 subjects were recruited in the study according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and were divided into two groups as Group A and Group B with 15 in each group. After a brief demonstration, Group A subjects were subjected to Cervical mobilization with neck exercise and Group B subjects were subjected to Thoracic manipulation and Cervical mobilization with neck exercise. The results of pre versus post-test were analyzed and interpreted using the Visual Analogue Scale for pain and Neck Disability Index for functional activities. The results of the present study showed that there was a significant difference in reducing pain and improving functional activities in patients with Mechanical Neck Pain treated with Thoracic manipulation and Cervical mobilization with neck exercise than in patients treated with Cervical mobilization with neck exercise. Thus, the study concluded that Thoracic manipulation and Cervical mobilization with neck exercise was the effective treatment for patients with Mechanical Neck Pain and Visual Analogue Scale and Neck Disability Index could be used as the assessment tools for patients with Mechanical Neck Pain.
