Abstract

Reason for this investigation to decide the adequacy of Masako Maneuver on gulping capacity in subjects with post Stroke Dysphagia. Dysphagia is a significant obstacle for the stroke recovery, not very many Physiotherapy Maneuvers was there very less has been Proven in that Masako Maneuver effectively relevant to the Patients. The quasi-experimental study design was used in this study. A total of 30 stroke patients were included according to the Inclusion criteria: Difficulty in swallowing following a stroke, both gender, Eat 10 scale (20 to 40) and Exclusion criteria: Infective pharyngitis, Tracheostomy, Traumatic Brain Injured Patients, Edentulous, those who cannot understand the command. All the 30 patients received Masako Maneuver for two weeks. Pre and Posttest outcome values were measured by EAT 10 scale. Values were tabulated and statistically analyzed. The results of this study P-Value of EAT-10 Scale is 0.001 which is extremely statistically significant of pre and posttest values. From this study, it was concluded that a more beneficial effect was seen with Masako Maneuver in the treatment of subjects with post-stroke Dysphagia.
